Bali to Sire Beach, Lombok: Ferry, Fast Boat & Flight Options

There are three realistic ways to get from Bali to Sire Beach, and which one makes sense depends mostly on how much luggage you're carrying and how much you value your time.

Fast boat + car. Fast boats run from Padangbai or Serangan in Bali directly to the Gili Islands or Bangsal harbor in North Lombok, typically taking 2–3 hours depending on the operator and sea conditions. From Bangsal or the Gilis, it's a short car transfer (15–30 minutes) to Sire Beach. This is the option most travelers already island-hopping through the Gilis will end up using, and it's usually the best value if you're not in a rush.

Flight + car. Flying from Denpasar (Bali) to Lombok International Airport takes about 25 minutes in the air, with several daily departures from most Indonesian carriers. From the airport, it's roughly 40–50 minutes by car to Sire Beach. This is the fastest total door-to-door option and the one we'd recommend if you're short on time or traveling with young kids, though it costs more than the boat once you add up the airport transfers on both ends.

Car ferry (Padangbai–Lembar). The slowest and cheapest option, the public car ferry from Padangbai in Bali to Lembar in South Lombok takes around 4–5 hours, followed by a longer drive north (2–2.5 hours) to reach Sire Beach. This route makes the most sense if you're bringing your own vehicle across, but it's a long day for most visitors.

Which we'd pick. For most guests, fast boat to Bangsal or the Gilis followed by a short car transfer is the sweet spot — a reasonable travel time, a decent price, and a first look at the coastline you're about to spend your trip on. If your schedule is tight, the flight into Lombok International Airport is worth the extra cost.
