The Story Behind The Kori Sire

The Kori Sire wooden villa exterior, North Lombok

The Kori Sire started with a simple question: what would it look like to build a place to stay that didn't try to be more than it needed to be?

North Lombok's coastline near Sire Beach is quiet in a way that's increasingly hard to find — no strip of hotels, no crowds, just water, wind, and the sound of the tide. We wanted a property that matched that pace rather than fighting it, so we built six villas instead of sixty, used local timber instead of poured concrete, and left the gardens loose rather than manicured.

Every villa is handcrafted from wood, designed to feel warm rather than polished. We kept air conditioning, hot water, and WiFi — this is comfort, not deprivation — but the details that matter most here are the ones you can't put on a spec sheet: a terrace that catches the evening light, a walk to the beach that takes less time than it takes to explain, a stay that doesn't ask you to be anywhere or do anything in particular.

That's the whole idea behind The Kori Sire. Not a resort in the traditional sense, but a small, well-built place to slow down.
